Google Promotes Hezbollah Propaganda

What a rude awakening this morning. As I opened my Google News, the source of a main article regarding the Middle East was Hezbollah’s Al Manar (see picture above). Since when the news agency of a major terrorist organization is considered a mainstream news source? When will Google start acting in a responsible fashion and stand by its “No Evil” principle?

For those not familiar with Al-Manar, here are is a snapshot:
- It’s owned and managed by Iran-funded Hezbollah
- Its programs are dedicated to the promotion of Hezbollah’s views’ and the hatred of America and Israel
- One of the recent drama series it aired, called The Diaspora, was, according to the BBC, based on “the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious 19th Century publication used by the Nazis among others to fuel race hatred."
- The EU, and more recently the US, have forbidden broadcasting the network.
- Until 9/11, its parent organization, Hezbollah was responsible for more American deaths than any other terrorist organizations

Let us hope it was a technical glitch or a Muslim on the Google payroll sneaking a News feed into Google News. I can't believe Google would alienate the American blogosphere on a management approved scale.

theway2K, I wish you were right. Issue is that it seems that this Google news feed from Al-Manar has been going on for several days. Check this out. Strangely, it has not been noticed yet in the blogsphere.

I've heard that Al-Jazeera is looking to establish a D.C. office (Station?). If true, won't that be convenient for those seeking their daily dose of Islamic hate?

In my time in the blogosphere, I've found several sites which appear to be jihadi sites. Nothing appears to be done about these sites.

When will Google start acting in a responsible fashion and stand by its “No Evil” principle?

PhotoBucket, the image-hosting service, has a similar policy and has removed some cartoons which are offensive to Muslims. One of my fellow bloggers lost all the images at his site. But I'll bet that PhotoBucket wouldn't have removed images "offensive" to other groups.

Hezbollah and Iran have direct connections; Iran is not shy about saying so. Google should be well aware of the connection.

One certainly doesn't expect to find news from Hezbollah on the Google News Page. A glitch? I have my doubts. Having such a page would be an easy way to signal sleeper cells to attack. I wonder if Google's management has some Muslims aboard.

PS: Thank you for stopping by my site late tonight or early this morning. I like what I see here at your site and will take a look around.

Actually, the news on Google are picked based on an algorithm created by google. It is random, and that is why Google News has been criticized because it doesn't pick the most reputable sources, but any and all sources. So to be fair, the algorithm used by google is problematic because of its randomness. True, Google can remove a news source, but it has only done so when that source has fed it fake news. To remove al Manar you would probably have to begin a campaign denouncing it as a terror organization's mouthpiece and convince enough people to support it. Google would likely remove it then.

Al Jazeera already open a news outlet its located in accross the street from the American legion on K St. between 16th and 17th in a non-descript building. Initially they had the al Jazeera logo on the outside, but apparently that became a bit problematic (no surprise there).

I find it funny though, because I did a search on Google News for al-manar and the first three or four articles were about how the US government designated it a terrorist organization's mouthpiece, but then had a couple of articles from al-manar on page 2. I can only assume that since it is an online "newspaper" Google News picks it up, unless told not to.

Oooo Google is taking over the world of information, help up lord # 2 and make us steadfast on promoting an infidel "American" version of news coverage filled with neo-cultural slant. When u guys are ready to wake up from your dismal, phobic state, things may look less exciting and more realistic.
